The Noongar people are the traditional owners of the Perth region and the Swan Coastal plains, also known as Whadjuk country. European settlement was established by Captain James Stirling and the British Government in 1829, with Perth founded as the capital of the Swan River colony. Like most other parts of Australia, Perth then quickly became home to boatloads of convicts, sent out from 1850 to help build roads and other infrastructure projects.

Fast forward and Perth has consistently ranked in the Top 10 Most Liveable Cities in the World (in 2021 was listed as # 6) by The Economist Intelligence Unit. Much of the cities wealth and development is generated by our rich resource sector. The opportunities for employment, quality education, temperate year round climate, wide open spaces, and low crime rates, makes Perth WA a popular choice for many individuals and families looking to relocate.
