Whether you are on a quick pre-assignment trip, or have arrived permanently in Perth, below is our most favourite and much loved, places to visit:

  1. King Parks Botanical Gardens - pack a picnic and spread out on the lush lawns to enjoy the sparkling views over our city and the Swan River. Take a walk over the federation walkway nestled amongst the tress, search out one of the many playgrounds, visit the beautiful art shop, Aspects of Kings Park, and so much more.

  2. Pristine Beaches - being a coastal city, we are spoilt for choice when choosing your favourite beach to take a dip. Cottesloe Beach is probably one of our most famous spots (we think it is better than Bondi!) but everywhere you will enjoy white sand, clear waters and sunsets that are truly amazing.

  3. Fremantle - the port city of Fremantle has a rich history, home to Perth’s oldest gaol and convict built maritime museum. Just south of Perth, '“Freo” as it is known, is a popular weekend destination with its variety of markets, busking entertainment and outdoor cafes. Famous for its fish n chips, wander along the harbour boardwalks and enjoy all Freo has to offer.

  4. South Perth Ferry - whether you start city side or from the South Perth foreshore, catching the ferry across the Swan River is one of the best ways to enjoy the city sights from the water! The ferry ride only takes about 10 minutes, and on most days, is very calm. A great outing for the kids, with much to explore on both sides of the Swan.

  5. Perth Hills - if you are an avid outdoor fan and perhaps enjoy a trek in the hills, Perth offers much for you to explore right on our city fringe. Always research your walk first, pack plenty of water and sun protection, and be sure to let a friend or family member know your plans for the day!

  6. Swan Valley - is one of the best days out you can have in Perth, with so much to see and do! Whether it be our award winning wineries, local restaurants featuring seasonal produce, craft breweries or chocolate factories, the Swan Valley really does have something for everyone.

  7. Elizabeth Quay - is one of the newest developments in Perth and connects our CBD with the stunning waterfront. Here you will find playgrounds, public artwork, and many fine bars and restaurants. Elizabeth Quay is easily accessed via public transport, with an easy stroll up to the CBD if you legs want to wander!

  8. WA Museum Boola Bardip - a personal favourite, our stunning museum is a place to share Western Australia’s many stories. Centred in the heart of the Arts Precinct in Northbridge, housed in a stunning architecturally restored building, be sure to check out the many free events held regularly in their annual calendar.

  9. Rottnest Island - just a short ferry ride from either Fremantle or Perth, Rottnest Island offers magical day visits or longer holiday escapes. Famous for the cute marsupial, the Quokka, you will not be disappointed in “Rotto”! Bikes are a popular way of getting around (no cars on the island) and be sure to pack your swimming gear if the weather is warm. Instagram worthy pics await!

  10. Margaret River Region - and last but not least, is our renowned winery region in our famous South West. Approximately a 3.5 hour drive from Perth, you are spoilt for choice in places to stay and things to do. Be warned, book in advance wherever possible!
